Chico, CA Birth Photography:: Edwin James the V

I sat in awe of the opportunity to photograph this birth the entire evening. Along with Eddie’s mom, I teetered on the rope of being a quiet, still presence and speaking out to tell Devon just how strong she was and to talk about the contractions, fear, joy, etc. Thank you for allowing me to be in your lives in such an incredibly momentous time. I have known these (now) parents for quite some time and getting to witness their son’s arrival made me see even more just how great of a team they are.
Devon, you are so strong and courageous.
Eddie, you are such a sincere and secure husband and father.

This happened a few times throughout the evening–where Eddie would somehow get Devon to laugh or smile amidst the intense labor she was working through. It brought me to tears.
Love this embrace between Eddie and his mom.
Baby Edwin James V(the fifth), welcome to this world! You are so handsome and loved by many, many people. Congratulations to this family!!!

Northern CA Wedding Photography:: Bryan and Megan

This Wedding took place at an incredible private residence in Placerville, California. Everyone in attendance were nestled beneath magnificent trees and surrounded by everything antique. The guests heard a lot about Megan and Bryan’s story and it keeps playing over and over again in my mind as I look through their photos. Congratulations to this blessed couple–your day is a favorite of mine!

Megan and her dad have such a sweet relationship and I was so grateful to get to witness it!
Megan and Bryan did not see each other before the ceremony but took some time together before it all started.

Not a detail went unnoticed at this Wedding–from the Farmer’s Market style hors d’ oeuvres to the blue picnic napkins and wooden utensils.
Each piece of decor had it’s perfect antique touch and the guests were enthralled with this picturesque landscape!
The party ended with lights strung above the guests and a cappuccino maker being a hit!
Congratulations to these great families! Thank you for allowing me into your lives and into your memorable day!

And thank you to my second shooter for all of your help and encouragement!!

Baby Girl–27 weeks

Well my intention was to post a picture every two weeks but with a very busy two weeks, it just didn’t happen.
One of the best moments in pregnancy, for me at least, is when you know that your baby will survive outside of the womb. We have passed this point and it feels great. She would need a lot of medical help and have many, many issues but it is comforting for me to know that she’d make it. My BabyCenter App just informed me that we have less than 90 days ’til her due date and that sounds crazy!

Weeks:27
Weight gain: 20+lbs.
Baby’s size: About 2 lbs. and is 15 inches long.
Changes: I am completely exhausted but sleeping much better! I think it is a mix of photographing four Weddings in the past month and Brody’s nap being pushed back later in the day. When 1:30pm rolls around, I practically fall asleep with him while reading some bedtime stories. Eating has become interesting–LOTS of small meals throughout the day because my stomach seems to be crowded by a little person.:)
Maternity Clothes: Yes-especially bottoms. I have one pair of pants that can still be buttoned but they were my one pair of pants that always got way too loose to wear not pregnant. Mostly wearing long tanks, maxi skirts, workout clothes and yoga pants.
Best moment this week: Starting to feel where her little body parts are. I can sometimes tell where her back/bottom are and she is a major mover and shaker. We have also had some cooler mornings, which are like heaven for this momma who is basically always over heating these days!
Worst moment this week: Our sweet little boy had his first Emergency Room visit that ended in 4 stitches. Monday night was a mix of panic, calm, tears and thankful hearts. He’s a brave boy and we’re grateful for the awesome nurses and doctors and that daddy was home when it happened!
Food cravings: Burgers. I also really want cheese and crackers and bread, bread, bread. If only ALL of those calories went to this baby who is fattening up and not to my thighs! She’s a great excuse to eat it, though. I’ll take it!:)
Food aversions: Travis and I went to a Mexican food place this week and I was grossed out–which is weird. I usually LOVE Mexican food.
Missing anything: Not really. Brody is at a really fun age and I’m grateful that this pregnancy is going so smoothly. Maybe I’m missing a tropical vacation…if I’m being honest. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Looking forward to: Nap time…e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y. So grateful for naps.
(Thank you to Will and Lindy for treating us to Red Robin to celebrate Travis’ new job! I think that is what started my burger cravings. We are so thankful for you two!!)

Baby Girl–24 weeks

Well, I have officially failed at keeping up with this pregnancy diary this time around. I’ll chalk it up to chasing a toddler around and never being in picture-worthy clothes. From now on I’ll take a photo on Sunday since I usually shower for church…usually being the key word here.
Anyways, I’m really excited to write about this pregnancy. It has been similar in a lot of ways to my pregnancy with Brody. So, before I just start to ramble, let’s just jump right into this pregnancy info!
Oh, but wait, now that I’m writing some details out I feel the need to share some stuff. Maybe I’m just justifying that I’ve already gained 20+ pounds? Oh well:)I started this pregnancy out pretty underweight–pretty much due to nursing Brody 15+ months. So I’ve gained a decent amount now but I’m still right on track and I feel healthy and great! Sadly, I decided to stop nursing Brody because I just wasn’t healthy. It was a lot on my body to be making a baby, be sick with pregnancy, and burning so many calories nursing him still 3 times a day. I miss those days with him but now he just looks at me when I’m changing and says “baby eat”! I hope he has good, healthy feelings towards me nursing his baby sister. Well, so much for not rambling!!

Weeks: 24
Weight gain: 20 lbs., I think…I don’t have a scale.
Baby’s size: About 12 inches and a bit over 1 pound.
Changes: I have not being feeling great the past few weeks–stress, nausea, heat, etc.
Maternity clothes: A decent mix, I’d say. My hips knew what to do this time–I haven’t been able to button any bottoms since about 12 weeks but I just use a rubber band. However, my thighs and butt are starting to not fit either ๐Ÿ˜‰
Best moment this week: We got Brody a baby girl doll. He is so sweet with her and it makes Travis and I so excited! Also, my boobs are all of a sudden huge…to me. I’m not complaining one bit..well neither of us are to be honest! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Also, it’s super fun now that Travis can watch my belly bounce and jiggle when she was kicking like crazy. She is a mover!
Worst moment this week: I’ve been struggling to sleep. I think I just have a lot going on in my head–work stuff, house projects, Brody has outdoor allergies, etc. Plus I can’t sleep on my stomach or back and I’m not too good at sleeping on my sides….oh…and the getting up to pee 3-4 times a night.
Food cravings: They’ve been very similar to last time. Fruit, salads, sandwiches and mexican food.
Food aversions: Not much these days:)At first I couldn’t even stand to drive by In N Out, which made my burger-loving husband quite perplexed.
Missing anything: Sleeping in. I think I”ll have to wait about 20 years until I get to do that again.:)
Looking forward to: Getting her room ready. We got rid of the bed and tall dresser in there and are now shopping for paint colors and a crib. I can’t wait to see the finished product!
Well, thank you for following along with our lives! This pregnancy has been pretty great and we are so thankful for baby girl’s health. Her ultrasounds all look normal and she is measuring perfectly! Dr. thinks her head will be big just like her big brother’s. Travis and I still look at each other in awe of this little life growing in me. Brody kisses “baby sister” in my tummy on a regular basis but I really think he just thinks my belly button is called “baby sister”!:)
Until next time…
(Thanks hubby for taking these photos real quick! We were on our way to celebrating our 6th Wedding Anniversary so I felt fancy. ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Chico, CA Wedding Photography:: Ryan and Carly

Travis and I said multiple during this gorgeous Wedding and after the day was done just how great it was. The ceremony and reception took place at a private residence on a beautiful summer day. Carly and Ryan spent months preparing for this day and it was perfect.

Ryan is such a handsome groom!
The intimate ceremony took place in a beautiful setting without a detail going unnoticed.
The details of the reception were so fun with a brownie dessert bar and an awesome guest book idea!
We snuck away for a few more portraits with this beautiful vintage car!

The party began with great toasts and some great cake fun!
Congratulations to this sweet couple–their joy is contagious and we are so grateful to get to share these photos!
