21 weeks

This really is so much fun! I’m trying to savor every kick and roll. I’m also trying to be more aware of sweet moments between just Travis and I–we won’t get these times back with it being just the two of us.
Again, this photo was taken closer to 22 weeks than 21 but I going to try to catch up this week!
Weeks: 21
Weight gain: 10 lbs
Baby’s size: the length if a carrot!
Maternity clothes: My shirts all still fit but my pants have to either be stretchy or maternity.
Changes: I’m starting to feel rolls and not just kicks–it’s so fascinating!
Food cravings: CHOCOLATE.
Food aversions: Nothing, really.
Best moment this week: Seeing our baby boy at an ultrasound. This ultrasound was not as fun–it was more medically based. The tech had to check all of her boxes to make sure the baby is healthy. The tech was not super friendly but we loved just watching him move around on the screen.
Worst moment this week: Discussing Christmas plans with family–realizing we might be separated because he will be so little. Travis and I aren’t driving to Tahoe in the snow with our newborn. We think it is what’s best for our little family and that’s what matters. Family might just have to come to Chico for Christmas!
Missing anything: A short bedtime routine. I feel like it has doubled–vitamins, lotioning up and spreading Biooil everywhere.
Looking forward to: Seeing family this weekend! It is always fun:)
It was also super exciting this past week because my Mom and I went and picked out baby boy’s bedding! I’m so thankful that my mom is going to be making his bedding and a special quilt. It is going to be perfect!

20 weeks

Hello Halfway!!!
Alright, I’m getting a little behind–we are actually 21 weeks right now but these photos were taken at 20 weeks(+5 days).
Weeks: 20
Weight gain: 9 lbs. Right on track to gain 30 total.(Feeling large–I know, just wait.)
Baby’s size: Length of a banana–that seems so big to me!
Changes: Feel like I’ve popped out. Although, we went garage saling last weekend with two other couple who are expecting and people didn’t ask when my due date was–just theirs. I was wearing a looser shirt, though.
Maternity clothes: Same–bottoms yes but my tops still fit.
Food cravings: Starting to crave sweets.
Food aversions: Burgers. Although, Travis is very happy that In N Out isn’t sounding so gross anymore.:)
Best moment this week: Hearing baby boy’s heartbeat again and painting the nursery.
Worst moment this week: My stomach is getting more sensitive–hello TUMS.
Movement: He is so active right now. Friends and family have felt him and Travis and I just sit on the couch at night watching my belly bounce. He’s getting stronger!
Missing Anything: Not really.
Looking Forward to: Another ultrasound this Thursday! Can’t wait to see him!!

Robina - So glad you are having another ultrasound! That is one thing I regret in my pregnancies…not having multiple ultrasounds. You just can't get those opportunities and moments back. You are so beautiful and we're so excited for you guys!! BTW, I expect to be invited to a baby shower…I want to give you stuff! XO, Robin

July 10, 2012 - 10:58 pm

Robina - And by the way, you look absolutely gorgeous and SKINNY! 😀

No really, you do. My most hated area of weight gain was in my arms…and you've gained none there! Beautiful arms/shoulders/face etc. You are one hot momma and I know Travis agrees!

July 11, 2012 - 2:28 am

Travis and Danielle - Robin, I just LOVE you!! Yes, you will be invited to a baby shower:) I can't wait to meet Jaxon. He looks so cute and I have been thinking about you lots! Thank you so much for the compliments–if I lose the baby weight like you, I'll be so thankful!!!

19 weeks & sister’s Wedding

Well we are officially 20 weeks today but I missed my 19 week post. I was in San Diego this past weekend for my sister’s wedding and the week leading up to that flew by!
So, here are the deets about my week 19 of pregnancy.
Weeks: 19
Weight gain: 8 lbs
Baby’s size: the length of a bell pepper–weighing about 10 ounces.
Changes: I can’t button my pants…not one pair.
Maternity clothes: A mix. I’ve been wearing lots of stretchy skirts and work out clothes–very attractive.
Food cravings: Fruit, salad, tacos.
Food aversions: Burgers.
Best moment this week: Being around family. Two of my sisters felt him kick.
Worst moment this week: Wedding festivities tuckered me out!
Movement: Yes. Loving feeling him kick.
Missing anything: Not really–got to eat some yummy sushi in SD!! Wish I could’ve had a glass of wine at the wedding reception, though.
Looking forward to: starting to decorate the nursery this coming weekend.
I didn’t get a photo of week 19–my sister’s Wedding Photographer did. We’ll have to wait to see those, though!
So, because a blog post is no fun without a photo or two, I’ll share just a few from my sister’s wedding. It took place at Leo Carrillo Ranch in Carlsbad, CA. It was seriously stunning–there were peacocks roaming the grounds and my sister did an amazing job with the decor.

Centerpieces.

My twin sister, Madison. Bridesmaids dresses were from ModCloth. All of us wore brown cowboy boots and these beautiful personalized necklaces that were gifts from the happy couple.

 She was a gorgeous bride.

Nicole’s shoes–to die for! From Nordstroms.

Maybe that was more than just a few photos. As you can see, the wedding details were stunning. Obviously, we all can’t wait to see what their photographers captured! We love Tim and are so happy to add more testosterone to our female-crazed family!
I’m off to edit Weddings and Portrait Session from June. Enjoy your week!

Amanda Coniglio - Great shots Danee!! It was SO great to see you and your lil tummy, can't wait to meet him <3

Care for a little coffee date?

I’m starting a new little weekly post on here–a coffee date of sorts. I’ve seen it around the blogosphere and thought it was a sweet idea. What would you share with me if we were on a coffee date?
If we were on a coffee date, I’d first have to order an iced tea instead of coffee. Although I have been drinking lots of decaf White Mochas at some of our fave coffee shops, Iced tea has sounded amazing. This is Crystal Light Peach Iced Tea–kind of addicting.
I’d also share with you that if I ever think of leaving our Chico community and friends here, it brings me to tears. I feel very, very fortunate for the people in my life. One of the reasons that Travis and I decided to buy a house and stay in Chico is because we couldn’t imagine leaving the friends.
Some friends came over last night for dinner and they brought us this blue hydrangea–blue for our little boy on the way. Very thoughtful.
If we were on a coffee date, I’d share with you just how thankful I am for my husband. Truly, I’d tell you that. I’ve been working about 45 hours/wk the past few weeks plus shooting Weddings and Portraits. I’ve come home to dishes done and groceries shopped for.
I’d also share with you that I am beyond excited for my sister’s wedding weekend coming up. Travis isn’t able to get the time off of work so I get some girl time–manicures, lunch with the girls, and all of the wedding excitement. I miss my mom and sisters a lot. I can’t wait for them to feel little baby boy kick, too!
What is your relationship like with your siblings? I have 4 sisters and it has been a roller coaster of ups and downs in our relationships. My twin sister and I were attached at the hip growing up, until about high school. After those years of not getting along, we get along just fine now. I miss her and think she is such a beautiful woman. I tried to convince her to move to Chico:)
My older sister and I never got along growing up–around my college years, we started to be able to relate better to each other instead of ignore each other’s wants. She is really smart and a great shopper–I look up to her in many ways.:)
My two younger sisters and I have gotten along well. I used to carry my younger sister from her bed to mine because I got scared at night. She was the baby in the family for a long time. When my youngest sister came along when I was 12, I treated her like my own baby. I remember running home from the school bus just to cuddle her as a newborn. I will be very sad when she doesn’t run into my arms anymore when I visit. I’m going to pretend she will do that even when she is 16. Hmmm…
That was kind of a tangent about my sisters but I can talk for a long time about them–so maybe this coffee date went a little longer than the usual one.
What would you tell me if we were on a coffee date?
Maybe at the end of this coffee date, we’d watch Matilda together–as that is what I have on in the background while I clean up and finish some Wedding crafts. I love that movie.
Thanks for the coffee date–until next week…

18 weeks

18 weeks has been a very eventful week for us. We got to see our little one again on an ultrasound and find out that we are having a boy! It was so great having the ultrasound technician point out all of his healthy parts–his heart, stomach, bladder, kidneys, spine, all 10 fingers, all 10 toes, etc. We feel very blessed to have a healthy baby on the way–he is a miracle.
I have been feeling him kick like crazy the past week. I knew it was early to feel that much movement so I was kind of talking myself out of it. I would think “I’m only ___ weeks, that’s probably just something weird like gas.” Nope, it was him. I guess my placenta is in the back so it is normal to feel the baby kick a lot sooner and more often. That is both good and bad–when I’m in my third trimester and he is kicking a lot, I’m told I might not be a big fan of it. As of now, I am loving it!
Weeks: 18
Weight gain: 7lbs total
Baby’s size: 9.5 ounces
Changes: He is kicking lots. I am pretty tired this week–having to slow down some. Pulling weeds hurt my back:)
Maternity clothes: Some. My shorts/pants don’t button anymore but I just use a hairband through the hole and around the button. Dress in the pictures is Maternity from Motherhood.
Food Cravings: Tacos, fruit, salad, chocolate.
Food aversions: Burgers.
Best moment of the week: Travis feeling baby boy kick!!
Worst moment of the week: Randomly throwing up one morning.
Movement: Yes–lots of jabs.
Missing anything: Raw sushi, a big bladder.
Looking forward to: My sisters and parents feeling him kick when I travel to SD for my older sister’s wedding next weekend.

Oh, and we think our little boy is so cute and looks like his daddy already!

A few more photos from last night…
It was a windy night in Chico…
Thank you, hubby, for taking these. You’re the bomb.com.
