Chico California Portrait Photographer::The St. Germain Family

We are truly blessed by the community that we have here in Chico. It is one of the reasons that we decided to call it ‘home’. There are so many families that we look up to, so many individuals that we admire.

The St. Germain family has just moved from Chico but they too got to experience the joys and blessings of a solid community. We had a great time running around with Peter, Alysha, and their two littles a few weeks ago. Here are some photos of our busy afternoon with them!
You can tell this couple’s love for each other very soon after meeting them.
We wanted to get one more family photo. This just shows true life with little ones and I love it!
Thank you Peter and Alysha for allowing us to document this time in your lives. You’re a beautiful family!

28 weeks

This pregnancy is flying by. I’m caught in the middle of telling myself to enjoy it and wanting it to be over so I can just meet him already!
It is pretty amazing that if he were born now he would survive. Of course, he’d need medical help in a lot of ways but we would still be parents–just something that has been comforting for me to think about lately.
As of now, I am laying on the couch after a fun and busy weekend in Sacramento with friends. I could use about a 10 hour nap…then sleep 10 more hours at night. We brought our new gear and took some photos of our time there. We went to The Galleria, had yummy sushi, and walked around downtown Sac a bit. Oh, we also slept on an air mattress surrounded by friends sleeping on the living room floor–went to bed at about 1am after playing Mafia all night. It was seriously fun.
Onto pregnancy details…
 Weeks:28
Weight gain: I weighed myself yesterday and had to check the scale. First time I’ve been in the 140s and seeing that number kind of shocked me. Okay…maybe I was being dramatic & hormonal. I will be reaching the 150 range in a few short months so I just need to get used to it. It is healthy weight and it is a good thing, I know. So, I’ve officially gained 19 pounds.
Baby’s size: 2.25 pounds and is 14.8 inches(according to BabyCenter.com)
Maternity clothes: Yes–still a mix.
Changes: Feeling the need for afternoon naps these days.
Food cravings: Still lots of fruit and carbs.
Food aversions: Nothing.
Best moment this week: Getting the crib put together!
Worst moment this week: Lower back pain. I think it is my sciatic nerve so it is random shooting pains. I’ve had that before pregnancy and it is pretty uncomfortable.
Missing anything: Eating normally–I am basically hungry an hour after eating a full meal. I was never a breakfast person but now am power walking to the pantry in the mornings for my cereal.
Looking forward to: Photographing our last wedding this coming weekend. It’s going to be a great weekend!
I will share some stuff on the Nursery tomorrow.

DoolittleDesign - You are too cute Danielle! sorry to hear about the lower back pain and don't worry about the weight gain! You look beautiful and you are gonna pack on a few lb's its natural and good for baby. i understand though trust me it is shocking when you watch the scale slowly climb over the weeks

Travis and Danielle - Thank you, Tiff! You look beautiful as well!!

Chico California Photographer::It’s Friday

Well, it’s finally Friday–The start of a three day weekend. Even for my banker husband who has rarely had a Saturday off this year! We decided that a celebration was in order. We are leaving tomorrow morning to spend the weekend in Sacramento with some friends. Not just any friends–great friends! But, I think all of our friends are pretty great:)
I’m excited because we just upgraded one of our cameras and also purchased a new lens. We are bringing some of our new camera equipment and are going to go photo crazy on this mini vacation. Well, that is always my intention. Maybe next week I will post some of our photos from our time spent there.
(insert smooth transition into talking about the weather)
The weather in Chico has been pretty amazing lately and we’ve been using our whole house fan at night! That is some exciting stuff, people. Whole house fan on= AC not on= lower PG&E bill! I’ve been savoring some summer activities like dining outdoors, wearing shorts, and early morning walks without a sweatshirt. Soon, it will be cold and brisk–that just means our baby is closer to making his debut and that makes me very excited!
And because adding a slice of lime to a mason jar of peach green tea feels like summer, here’s to summer! The last summer of it being just Travis and I in this house of ours–cheers!
What are you savoring about summer? Or are you full steam ahead for Fall?

27 weeks

Hello, Third Trimester!! I cannot wait to be snuggling my baby boy. Seriously, it makes me cry when I think about it. He is such a little miracle and precious gift.
I just LOVE running into people around town and them saying “I love your updates! I read it every time you post something!” Please, don’t hesitate to comment. I won’t think you are a stalker if we haven’t spoken in person in a while. I promise. I enjoy the posts:)
This week has been really fun! We have had family visiting and we made some progress on the baby’s room. My mom is a Godsend and she helped sew some curtains for his room. She is also making his bedding and I can’t wait to lay it in his crib! I will probably pee my pants when the crib arrives. 1.) Because I am so excited and 2.) Because peeing my pants these days isn’t rare.
Okay, don’t think I am just walking around with a puddle at my feet. I just had to change my pants once when I sneezed and a little trickle is quite common after I get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. Ha!
Anyways, here is some 27 week info!
Weeks: 27
Weight gain: No idea. We don’t have a scale at home. I’d say about 16-17 pounds.
Baby’s size: 2 pounds or so
Maternity clothes: A mix.
Changes: Belly is getting bigger so it is getting a little difficult to maneuver–ran my belly into the car door the other day. Oops.
Food cravings: Nothing really specific. Loving Mexican food but that isn’t new for me. We will be eating lots of it in San Diego in a few weeks–much better Mexican food there than in Chico.
Food aversions: I will eat pretty much anything if I’m hungry:)
Best moment this week: Getting his room in order more! Thank you everyone who helped!!
Worst moment this week: I can’t think of anything–thankful for that!
Missing anything: I’m really missing the girls that I used to nanny for. I want to kiss their cheeks again!!
Looking forward to: Getting the crib. Yay!
Thanks for following, friends!

Katelyn Owens - Love reading!!! And laughed so much about the peeing part! SO true!!! That happened to me a lot when prego, haha! You're so cute. Can't wait to see his room when it's done! :)

aubrey - When are we going to see pics of his room? You're making us wait so long!

September 3, 2012 - 9:57 pm

Travis and Danielle - Sorry Aubs!! We just hung up some decor finally but his room isn't going to be ready til late October. My Mom is making his bedding and the next time she is coming to Chico won't be until Oct. 21st. I will put a few photos up though:) Thanks ladies!!

Chico California Photographer::Splurge

Earlier this week Travis and I bought a new dining room table and chairs from Ikea. We are SO happy with the purchase. Our dining area is tiny quaint–so our table before just wasn’t working. Plus the legs were basically falling off. We were wanting something to both protect the table and add some color.

I splurged. I walked into PierOne and actually bought something. Every once and I while I will walk in there just to look around–mostly in their clearance section. Not this time. I was on a mission.
A new, beautiful, colorful table runner adorns our dining room table.
I am justifying this purchase because we had some gift cards. Totally justified to spend $40 on a table runner, right?? GASP! That is way too much money. We had gift cards, we had gift cards, we had gift cards…just reminding myself.
I love it because it has so many colors in it that it will match any other decor we decide to add to our dining area. Teal, brown, mustard yellow, red, pink, dark blue–lots of pretty colors!

Who wants to come over for dinner and enjoy our new set up with us?? Head on over!:)

dgiuliani - It looks so good!!! I'm glad you got that one even if it was
$40 Worth it!
